So I've been trying to answer whatever questions I'm getting about my music in my blog. I got a few more recently on Facebook which I will post right here and try to answer.
1: What are your views on the new music formats being introduced (CMX)? Will this affect the way you present your music? Will you become a more "visual" artist than you are at present as a result?
2: How do you find the new information technology tools
available to musical artists today? In your opinion what are the advantages and the disadvantages?
3: Do you have any plans to visit the UK (I might have missed you already)?
4: Would you like to meet Kate Bush and/or Tori Amos? If you did - what you talk about? (you might have already met them, of course!). Would you like to perform with either of them??
These I'm going to try to answer here...if there are more submitted, I may answer some in my blog, or maybe even some in my video diary, etc.
1. Actually I honestly don't know anything about CMX format. It might be interesting to try out, as I am always up for new things...but I think accessibility is the most important thing. If doing something in a different format means that most people won't be able to listen to it, then maybe it's something to skip. BUT I have always thought of my music as being very visually-oriented (i.e. movie/tv soundtrack) and I am hoping to move more in that direction in the future, with more video-based media.
2. I love technology! It's providing me the means to reach all sorts of new people with my music that wouldn't otherwise hear it. I'm all over using anything and everything I can to spread the music around. The only, maybe, disadvantage of it is that it also means that there are WAY more artists now all pushing and doing the same thing, so it's a bit difficult to find your place in all of it as an artist.
3. Theoretical plans, lol. I want very very much to go on a European tour, but I am waiting for the right connections to fall into place to make that happen. Hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later...
4. And yes! Tori and Kate are my heroes! I would love to meet them and maybe even work with them on something. I actually had the honor of meeting one of my other favorite artists, Imogen Heap, via video conference a few weeks ago, and that was amazing. Check the
blog post about it if you haven't already :)
